Trial for Man Charged with Vehicular Manslaughter Scheduled for February 2023

A 33-year-old Baltimore man accused of manslaughter rejected a plea on Aug. 31 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Luvell Booker Jr., is charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent vehicular manslaughter, two counts of motor vehicle homicide while driving under the influence, three counts of causing a life-threatening injury driving intoxicated, and three counts of committing a traffic violation in connection to an incident on May 2, 2020. 

The prosecutor presented a plea of 10 years, suspending all but two years with five years supervised probation for vehicular manslaughter. 

Booker and his defense attorney Rodney Gray, rejected the plea. 

Booker’s trial is scheduled for Feb. 16, 2023 and is expected to last four days with Judge Yolanda Tanner presiding.
