Trial Date Set Homicide Defendants Charged with Killing Baltimore Police Officer

On July 22, Elliot Knox and Travon Shaw and their respective defense counsels received trial dates for January and February 2023, respectively, in connection to the murder of Baltimore Police Officer Keona Holley before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Both Shaw, 33, and Knox, 32, are charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, having a loaded handgun on their person, and having a loaded handgun in a vehicle.

Knox and Shaw was represented by defense attorneys Christopher Flohr and Matthew Connell, respectively.

According to WBALTV, Knox and Shaw ambushed the victim on Dec. 16, 2021, while she was in her patrol car around 1:35 a.m. on the 4400 block of Pennington Avenue. A week after the shooting, Officer Holley succumbed to her injuries.

Knox’s trial will begin on Jan. 25, 2023. It is expected to last two weeks.

Shaw’s trial is set for Feb. 21, 2023. It is expected to last two weeks as well.
