Trial Date Set for Defendant in 2018 Francis Street Murder

On Nov. 16, a trial date was scheduled for a murder defendant before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Damien Woods is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection with an incident that occurred on Nov. 4 2018.

According to CBS News, Woods was arrested and charged in August 2018 with the shooting death of 34-year-old Tracy Whiting on the 2400 block of Francis Street.

Judge Phinn set the trial date for May 22, 2023, with Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Charles H. Dorsey III presiding. The trial is expected to last three days.
