A trial date in the case of 23-year-old Dale Haddix was set for late October on Aug. 1.
Haddix is accused of first-degree murder and several firearms charges in connection to the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Tyron Fields that occurred Dec. 13, 2019, on the 1800 block of Montford Avenue.
During a previous hearing, Haddix waived his July 21 speedy trial deadline to give his attorney time to prepare a strong defense. The law requires a defendant’s trial start within 180 days of his arrest, or Hicks date.
Counsel agreed to set the trial for Oct. 20 over four-days. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland approved the scheduling.
