A trial date was set in reception court on Oct. 9 for a mass shooting case involving Deshawn Gwaltney and Broderick Young.
Gwaltney, 24, Young, 22, and Sha’Bria McCleod, 25, are charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm use in a felony violent crime. They also each face one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection to a March 29 shooting that occurred on the 400 block of Venable Avenue and left four people injured.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Nicole K. Barmore previously joined Gwaltney and Young’s cases. McCleod will be tried separately. Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled the seven-day trial for Jan. 12, 2026 before Judge Jeannie J. Hong.
