An 18-year-old man accused of fatally shooting Marco Nunez in April 2022 agreed to plead guilty to second-degree murder, with his sentencing to follow next month.

Robert Jordan, who was 16 at the time of the incident, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of second-degree murder and firearm use in a felony or violent crime on May 16 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence R. Daniels. The prosecution offered Jordan a plea of 60 years, suspending all but 20 years, for second-degree murder and a consecutive five years for firearm use in a felony or violent crime.

Judge Daniels also agreed to recommend Jordan for the Patuxent Institution treatment facility in Jessup.

After the defendant accepted the plea, the prosecution and Jordan’s attorneys, Brian Levy and Michael Gross, agreed to schedule his official sentencing for June 12.

Baltimore Police Department officers were initially called to the 1700 block of Thames Street for a reported shooting shortly before 1:00 a.m. on April 25, 2022, when they found Nunez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead at 1:24 a.m. Police later identified Jordan as the shooter after further investigation.
