Teenage Girl in Critical Condition After Being Shot in Edgewood

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced a shooting investigation in the Southwest District.

On Sept. 30, at approximately 3:16 p.m., officers responded to the 3700 block of Harlem Avenue for a reported discharge.

A short time later, a hospital walk-in shooting victim sought treatment at an area hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, officers located a 16-year-old female victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim is listed in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was inside a vehicle when an unidentified person shot at the vehicle, striking the victim. The driver then drove to an area hospital.

Southwest District shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.
