Shrihitha Nookala is a final-year student at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a pre-law student majoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in MLAW Law and Society.
Shrihitha chose to join Baltimore Witness for its candid look at the criminal justice system. After studying criminal justice for the past five years, from high school through college, she wanted an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and see the system firsthand.
After recently completing a survivor-focused internship, she was especially interested in an internship that would allow her to connect that experience with the theoretical knowledge she has gained through her coursework. Shrihitha has always loved writing and looks forward to combining that with her passion for criminal justice.
