Hello, my name is Nea James, and I am from Hagerstown, Maryland. I am a first-year student in my master’s degree for forensic pattern analysis and a senior in my sociology bachelor’s program at Loyola Maryland University. Post-graduation, I want to join the federal government in an effort to bring about change in the criminal justice system. After doing an internship with the Baltimore County Police Department, I was able to get insight into the viewpoint of law enforcement about crime and criminals. I want to use this experience to further my purpose at Baltimore Witness, which is to inform the public about local and ongoing court cases. By the end of my internship, I hope to have a better understanding of the legal system and the defendants.
