Mackenzie is a senior at Loyola University Maryland pursuing a bachelor’s degree in both Forensic Studies and Sociology. During her time at Loyola, she authored an opinion piece on climate change and environmental justice that was published in the Frederick News Post. She also served as a panel member for the Frederick County Maryland County Council’s workshop on climate change policy in February 2020. Mackenzie currently serves as the president of the Loyola University Maryland Sociology Club and as the vice president of the Loyola Forensic Science Organization. In the future, Mackenzie has aspirations of becoming a public defender and working in post-conviction litigation to exonerate those who have been wrongly convicted.
