Lauryn Burwell is a Towson University senior majoring in political science who has an interest in
the criminal justice system, public policy, and the law. Through this internship, she hopes to gain
practical courtroom and legal experience in order to improve her comprehension of the legal
system and public service.
Lauryn’s interests include constitutional law, government institutions, criminal justice reform, and political advocacy. She is currently volunteering with political campaigns, assisting with voter outreach, campaign operations, and community engagement efforts. In addition to her volunteer work, she holds leadership positions within her sorority, where she helps organize events, mentor members, and promote service and professional development initiatives.
Lauryn also works as a gymnastics coach, mentoring young athletes and helping them build confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills. Her diverse experiences in leadership, coaching, and political engagement reflect her commitment to public service, mentorship, and professional growth.
Lauryn aims to build a career that combines legal knowledge, policy analysis, and public
engagement, using her education and real-world experience to better understand how courts
and government institutions impact communities.
