Khuong Nguyen is originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and is currently studying at American University. He is majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science, and has a strong interest in the connection between technology and public policy. Khuong has worked on a range of projects, from airport simulations and puzzle solvers to data visualizations, using tools like Python and SQL. He hopes to one day work as a data scientist or software developer, using tech to solve real-world problems and support social change.
Khuong joined the American Witness data internship because he was drawn to the idea of combining storytelling with data to help make complex issues easier to understand. He’s excited to learn from professionals in the field and be part of a team that’s working on something meaningful. Outside of school, Khuong enjoys playing the piano, going to the gym, visiting museums, and playing volleyball.
