Suspect in Shooting, Car Crash Maintains Innocence

“Y’all can swab my hands, I did not shoot no gun,” Michael Armstrong, 31, was heard saying in a taped police interview shown to the jury May 8. Armstrong continued to proclaim innocence for a Feb. 19, 2024 non-fatal shooting incident.

Armstrong is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, firearm use, firearm possession with a prior felony conviction, and related firearm violations in connection to the shooting, which wounded a 42-year-old woman and ultimately caused a car crash.

He appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lazette Ringgold-Kirksey on May 8, his fourth day in trial.

Armstrong, allegedly allowed law enforcement officials to track his movement through a mobile app, admitted he witnessed a crime but continued to deny any involvemennt.

His trial is continuing.
