The Baltimore Police Department reported July 5 that a suspect was arrested for fatally shooting Kamira Jeter, 25, and Leah Jeter, 22 on December 20, 2020, on the 100 block of S. Kossuth Street.
According to a press release, detectives arrested Baltimore resident Deamonte Spencer without incident on July 1 on the unit block of Upmanor Road.
Spencer, 28, was taken to central booking, where he was charged with two counts of first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. He also faces two weapons charges.
As of Tuesday, there have been 174 homicides in Baltimore in 2021.
