Suspect Arrested and Charged in October 2021 Homicide

Homicide detectives for the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) have arrested 26-year-old Ameer Gittens in connection with a murder that occurred on Oct. 31 2021.

This arrest came after detectives consulted with the State’s Attorney’s Office, and it was determined that the facts of this case warranted an arrest.

On October 31, 2021, near midnight, 20-year-old Antwan Andrews was found shot in the 3500 block of Leeds Street.

Medics responded and transported Andrews to Shock Trauma, where despite doctors’ efforts, he died a short time later.

Gittens was transported to the Homicide Section, where he was interviewed, and then to Central Booking where he was charged with first-degree murder.

Currently, Ameer Gittens is being held at Central Booking without bail.
