A 49-year-old Baltimore man charged in a broad daylight shooting incident is set to stand trial this summer after rejecting a plea offer on April 9.
Darryle Langley is charged with attempted murder, assault, firearm use and multiple related gun offenses for his alleged role in a shooting, which occurred during the morning of Dec. 7, 2025.
Officers responded to the scene on the 2200 block of E. North Avenue and found a 34-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
No ballistic evidence was recovered from the scene, but area surveillance footage showed a suspect confronting the victim, opening fire and briefly giving chase before fleeing the scene in a silver vehicle. Five days later, on Dec. 12, authorities identified a person said to be Langley as the suspect and arrested him in East Baltimore.
During the April 9 hearing, the state offered Langley a plea on the charges of first-degree assault, firearm use, and firearm possession as a prohibited person. Langley and defense attorney Roya Hanna rejected the unspecified terms and requested seven days for trial.
Langley’s trial is scheduled to begin July 7 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lynn Stewart Mays, with one week allotted for proceedings.
