Store Employee Shoots Robber on Eastern Avenue

On March 23, at approximately 1:11 p.m., Southeast District patrol officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 3700 block of Eastern Avenue for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers learned that an armed gunmen entered a business establishment, brandishing a handgun and demanding money.

A female employee of the business withdrew her firearm and a struggle ensued between the employee and the suspect over the gun. The gun discharged, striking the suspect in the leg.

The suspect fled the location with the employee’s weapon but was apprehended by officers moments later in the 3700 block of Gough Street.

Officers recovered the victim’s firearm as well as the suspect’s weapon that was later determined to be a BB-gun.
