On June 16, at approximately 12:53 p.m., officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 2500 block of West Lexington Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.
Upon arrival, officers observed 42-year-old Julius Tyrone Johnson suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds to his body. Medics transported the victim to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he was pronounced deceased despite life-saving measures.
Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was shot in the 200 block of North Warwick Avenue.
