Southern District Officers Arrest Suspect in Duane Avenue Shooting Homicide Investigation

On May 25, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Warrant Apprehension Task Force members arrested 22-year-old Darius Joyner of Baltimore at a residence on the 2000 block of Clifton Avenue.

Detectives believe that Joyner shot and killed 29-year-old Adam White on Feb. 28, on the 4100 block of Duane Avenue.

Detectives transported Joyner to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first-degree murder and various handgun violations.

On the day of the incident, at approximately 6:04 a.m., Southern District patrol officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) were dispatched to the 4100 block of Duane Avenue to investigate an unresponsive person.

When officers arrived at the location, officers located White lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the back. White was pronounced deceased by BCFD Medics at the scene.
