On May 26, at approximately 6:56 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of Russell Street for a report of a common assault.
Once there, Baltimore Police Department officers learned the victim had been transported by medic to an area hospital before police arrival.
Upon arrival at the hospital, officers located the 37-year-old male victim suffering from multiple injuries to the head and body.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted by a group of suspects on the 1500 block of Russell Street.
On May 29, 2024, the victim, 37-year-old Marcus Brown died from his injuries.
The victim’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office, where the death was ruled to be a homicide.
