Jurors found Phillip Woods, 38, not guilty on Sept. 15 on four of five offenses he was charged with for allegedly shooting at his ex-girlfriend’s car on March 6, 2024.
Woods was originally charged with first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a violent crime, malicious destruction of property, and discharging a firearm outside his ex-girlfriend’s residence on the 800 block of N. Fulton Avenue in West Baltimore’s Harlem Park neighborhood. The gunshot reportedly followed an argument in which Woods’ ex-girlfriend accused him of cheating on her.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta A. Brown agreed to release Woods on the condition that he serve three years of supervised probation for the second-degree assault charge–the one count on which he was convicted.
Investigators recovered a bullet from the interior of the victim’s vehicle, but no matching handgun was found.
No further hearings are scheduled in this case.
