A 29-year-old man will serve 13 years in prison for his involvement in last year’s shootout at New York Fried Chicken in southwest Baltimore.
On Aug. 29, Antone Towson accepted the prosecution’s plea offer of 18 years, suspending all but 13 years and three years of supervised probation for first-degree assault and a concurrent five years for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Defense attorney Koryn High represented the defendant, whose original charges included first and second-degree attempted murder. The proceedings were before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yolanda Tanner.
Just after midnight on July 9, 2021, the prosecution previously told the court that Towson and another man, Tyree Reynolds, chased the victim into New York Fried Chicken on the 3100 block of West North Avenue. When the victim left the restaurant, he allegedly began firing shots at Towson and Reynolds, both of whom returned fire.
All three accused shooters were taken to hospitals for treatment.
Reynolds accepted a plea last month before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Cynthia H. Jones.
