Homicide Defendant Charged with Attempted Murder Has Trial Scheduled for June
A Baltimore resident charged with attempted homicide received a trial date on March 7 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M Phinn. Tavon Sheppard, 29, is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder; armed robbery; robbery; first and second-degree assault; theft of $100-$1,500; use of a firearm during a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction and having a handgun on his person in connection to an incident on June 14, 2020. In August, Sheppard was offered a plea of life, suspending all but 30 years for first-degree attempted murder; 20 years for armed robbery; 20 years with the first five years without parole for use of a firearm during a violent crime and 15 years, the first five years without the possibility of parole, for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction.
