On Aug. 22, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer was scheduled to preside over the trial of Craig Williams, 56, who is accused of the non-fatal shooting of his roommate. The proceeding was postponed for a second day because the case’s prosecutor was unavailable.
Williams is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony crime of violence, reckless endangerment, shotgun or rifle possession with prior felony conviction, possession of firearms, and illegal possession of ammunition in connection to a Nov. 25, 2024 incident that occurred on the 1100 block of Scott Street.
According to charging documents, Williams and his roommate got into a verbal argument after Williams accused him of entering his room. Williams then reportedly shot the victim with a rifle at the bottom of the steps.
Williams’ trial is now set to begin on Aug. 25.
