Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Schiffer declared a mistrial on Jan. 23 in the case of a 2018 homicide.
In January, defendant Eric Jackson’s trial resulted in a mistrial for the murder of 17-year-old Ray Glasgow. A jury found that Jackson, 37, was not guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. However, Jackson will be retried for the use of a firearm in a felony violent crime.
According to charging documents, Jackson, 37, was one of three defendants charged for their alleged involvement in Glasgow’s death, which was ruled a homicide caused by shooting. On May 5, 2018, the co-defendants allegedly fired multiple shots at the car Glasgow and his friends were in.
Co-defendant Bradley Mitchell was found not guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in January.
Co-defendant Shawn Little was convicted of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree in September.
Jackson is currently scheduled for a retrial to take place on Aug. 17 with Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gregory Sampson presiding. The trial is expected to last four days.
According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Jackson, who is represented by defense attorney Lawrence Rosenberg, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to the murder of Glasgow.
