The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the morning of Oct. 16.
According to a news release, officers were called to the 1000 block of E. 20th Street at 11:11 a.m. for reports of a burning body, where Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD) were extinguishing a fire and the remains of 35-year-old Bernard Stein was found.
Fire Department personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Homicide investigators were summoned and have assumed control over the investigation. The body will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for the purposes of autopsy and identification.
