Due to medical reasons of defense attorney Sarah West, criminal proceedings for defendant Adam Turner Gates Jr, 22, were pushed back a second time on Oct. 20, this time for another week.
Adam Turner Gates Jr, 22, is charged with three counts each of first- and second-degree assault, four counts of reckless endangerment, multiple firearm violations, and one count of aggravated animal cruelty for allegedly assaulting a woman and shooting a bird multiple times, killing it. The incident occurred on Sept. 11, 2024, at a Royal Farms located on the 5000 block of Pulaski Highway.
Gates allegedly assaulted the woman following an altercation between the two. Police state he fled the scene in a stolen Infiniti.
The case was sent to Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland for postponement, and is now scheduled for a three-day trial beginning Oct. 29.
