On Oct. 24, just after the jury was selected for a murder defendant’s trial, the prosecutors had his case nolle pros.
The trial for Terrence Carter was scheduled to take place Monday in the Baltimore City Circuit Court before Judge Jeannie J. Hong.
Carter, 34, was formerly charged with first-degree murder, using a firearm to commit a felony violent crime, and possessing a firearm with a felony conviction, in relation to the May 22, 2020 shooting death of 60-year-old Steven Lamont.
Carter had rejected a May 2021 plea offer from the prosecution and was prepared to proceed to trial. However, his jury trial had been postponed multiple times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He was represented by defense attorney Brad Macfee.
