Homicide and additional weapons charges were dismissed against a husband and wife on Jan. 9 in connection to the murder of 26-year-old Brionna Glasgow and shooting of a 29-year-old man in 2021.
Bolondalay Banks, 41, and Al Brown, 37, were both facing two counts of first-degree murder and firearm use in a felony or violent crime as well as single counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and having a loaded handgun on their person for the incident on Oct. 7, 2021.
On Tuesday, the couple appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong for trial; however, the prosecutor dismissed the case. The reason was not discussed in open court.
During Banks’ bail review in September 2023, her defense attorney, Julie Shapiro, told presiding Judge Kendra Y. Ausby that the case solely centered around the surviving victim. The only evidence against her client was the victim’s identification of Banks in a photo array, Shapiro said, given that Baltimore Police Department (BPD) body camera footage contradicted Banks’ presence at the crime scene on the night of the shooting.
Charging documents state officers found Glasgow and the male victim inside a home on the 1700 block of North Milton Avenue after receiving call shortly before 4:00 a.m. Glasgow was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male victim was treated for a gunshot wound to his head at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Banks and Brown, who was represented by defense attorney George Harris, were released on home detention in September and October 2023, respectively.
