Counsel continued to debate video footage on the final day of 18-year-old Deonte Price’s trial April 30, with the prosecution’s maintaining that Price shot one man and killed another on the 200 block of East Street.

Price faces nine charges, including two counts of first-degree murder and firearm use in a violent crime, single count of attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and related firearm violations in connection to the May 19, 2023 incident, which left 19-year-old Debrae Edwards dead with a gunshot wound to his head. The second victim, then 19 years old, survived with a gunshot wound to his right arm.

The prosecution pointed to the clothing worn by the shooter captured in the video footage, noting they allegedly matched Price’s. Price, say police, fled the scene on foot, and officers located him on the steps of a nearby residence wearing all black with black-and-white Air Jordan 4 sneakers and a black face mask.

Furthermore, DNA lifted from a recovered .40-caliber polymer ghost pistol very likely matches Price.

Defense counsel noted that, aside from Price, more than one person’s DNA had been recovered from the gun. He stressed Price had no identifiable motive for killing Edwards and said the two have no history of communication.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Althea M. Handy presided sent the case to the jury.
