A 31-year-old Baltimore man’s post-conviction hearing was postponed on Aug. 24 in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Jawaun Cilek Harris, along with co-defendant Tyrone Gary Fields Jr., was convicted of murder and use of a handgun while committing a crime in connection to an incident on July 29, 2008.

Harris is currently serving a 30-year sentence.

As Judge Philip S. Jackson called for the start of the proceeding, defense attorney Howard Greenberg requested to postpone the hearing as he was unable to request information from the defendant’s family in time.

The prosecutor agreed with the postponement, and Judge Jackson accepted the request. The hearing has been rescheduled for Feb. 7, 2022.
