Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Southern District

Southern District Shooting Upgraded to Homicide Investigation

On August 6, 2026, at approximately 5:31 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 500 block of Callender Street for a reported discharging of a firearm investigation. 

Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old Drequan Gross  suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was transported to an area hospital; despite medical efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical staff. 

Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Homicide Detectives at 410-396-2100.
