Police Identify Man Shot Dead by Officers in East Baltimore

The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has identified the decedent and Baltimore Police Department officers involved in the fatal police-involved shooting that occurred Feb. 24 in Baltimore.

The decedent is identified as 37-year-old Dwight Hawkins of Baltimore.

The involved officers are identified as BPD Officer Arthur Fuog, a 6-year veteran, and Officer Omar Rodriguez, a 7-year veteran. Both officers are assigned to the Group Violence Unit.

The IID is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the fatal shooting.
