Police Arrest Murder Suspect

A Baltimore resident was arrested on June 24 in connection to the murder of Desmond Williams.

According to a press release, officers responded to a home on the 400 block of E. 23rd Street on June 13 for a cutting. Upon arrival, they found Williams, 28, with massive trauma to his abdomen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later determined the victim died from being shot.

Tarence Jones was arrested for Williams’ murder on June 24. He is currently waiting in central booking to see a court commissioner.

Jones, 30, faces charges of first and second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and first and second-degree assault.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 20 in Baltimore City District Court.

As of Friday, there have been 162 homicides in Baltimore in 2021.
