On May 17, 33 year-old Darius Williams was arrested for the alleged murder of two-month-old Zorii Pitts. He was taken to Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with first-degree murder and first and second-degree child abuse.

According to a press release, Southern District officers were called to the unit block of South Monastery Avenue around 8:50 a.m. on May 15 when they found Pitts unresponsive.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said an autopsy was conducted at the medical examiner’s office, where Pitts’ cause of death was deemed blunt force trauma to the head.
