On July 14, 2026, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Western District officers responded to the 2800 block of West Lanvale Street for a reported shooting investigation.
Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old Dakaun Johnson and an 18-year-old Aiden Houchens, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victims were transported to an area hospital, where the 19-year-old was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. The second victim later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
