Officers Report Shooting of 25-Year-Old Man in Southern District

Southern District detectives are investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred on March 1.

On Wednesday, at approximately 1:15 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 200 block of South Gilmore Street for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 25-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the buttocks.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the 1300-1400 block of West Baltimore Street, at approximately 10:00 p.m., when he heard several gunshots. The victim stated that he did not realize that he was shot until after 1:00 a.m.
