In reference to the homicide that occurred on June 3, 2023, in the Southeast District, officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) have arrested 36-year-old Jose Flomenco Reyes.
On June 3, at approximately 4:24 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of the 5900 block of Eastern Avenue when they heard discharging.
Once they arrived, officers located 27-year-old Jeremy Maldonado suffering from several life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to John Hopkins Bayview Hospital Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, he was pronounced a short time later.
Patrol officers learned that Flomenco Reyes, fatally shot Maldonado following a dispute that occurred during a gathering in that block. A second victim was also shot during the incident. A 29-year-old male suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at an area hospital.
Southeast District officers located Jose Flomenco Reyes, on the 400 block of Drew Street, shortly after the incident and transported him to the Homicide Unit to be interviewed. Investigators then transported Reyes to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with first-degree murder.
