Officers Apprehend Murder Suspects After Car Crash

On Jan. 12, at approximately 4:13 p.m., Southern District officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Washington Boulevard to investigate a reported shooting, following a ShotSpotter alert.

Officers responded to the location and observed 36-year-old Deon Beasley suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Following the shooting incident, officers and Foxtrot pursued a vehicle fleeing from the scene. As a result of the pursuit, the vehicle struck a police vehicle and hit a guardrail. At this time, officers are interviewing the occupants of the vehicle.
