Northwest District Officers Make Arrest in 2019 Homicide Case

In reference to the homicide that occurred on Jan. 9, 2019, in the Northwest District, investigators have arrested 26-year-old Melvin Wright of Baltimore.

Investigators believe Wright shot and killed 20-year-old Tavon Travis Wilson, while in the 3600 block of Marmon Avenue.

On Feb. 21, 2023, homicide detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Wright. On Feb. 23, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Wright in the 6000 block of Green Meadow Parkway without incident.

Detectives transported Wright to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with first- degree murder.
