In reference to the fatal hit and run that occurred on Aug. 14, at the intersection of Liberty Heights Avenue at Callaway, which killed 88-year-old Barbara Logan of Baltimore.

Investigators with the Baltimore Police Department have identified the suspect who was operating the white Ford F150 flatbed truck as Tony Edmonds, 56, from North Carolina.

Detectives arrested Edmonds on Aug. 22, and transported him to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with criminal neglect.

On Aug. 14, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Northwest District patrol officers responded to the 3700 block of Liberty Heights Avenue for a report of a hit-and-run crash.

Once there, officers located an 88-year-old female driver inside her vehicle with front-end damage.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, where she later died.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the 88-year-old victim was proceeding through the intersection of Liberty Heights at Callaway Avenue with a steady green signal when the driver of a white pick-up truck drove through a steady red signal, colliding into the victim’s vehicle.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the location, driving Northbound onto Callaway Avenue from Liberty Heights.

After speaking with witnesses at the scene, investigators believe the suspect was possibly operating a white Ford F150 flatbed truck. Due to the crash, the truck should have front-end damage.

Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 410-396-2606 or 911.

Tony Edmonds, 56
