The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting in the morning of Oct. 21.
According to a news release, patrol officers were called to the 600 block of Exeter Street at 9:09 a.m. for reports of a shooting, where an unidentified man was found suffering from an apparent gunshot to the face.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was observed stealing items from inside the store. When the victim attempted to leave the store with the stolen merchandise, he was confronted by a security officer. The victim then pulled out a needle syringe and attempted to stab the security officer. The security officer was able to get to their firearm and discharge, striking the victim in the face.
