No-Show Victim Leads to Attempted Murder Case’s Dismissal

Attempted murder charges against 24-year-old Nahshon Rooks were dismissed on Aug. 22 after the victim did not appear in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

Rooks was charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, reckless endangerment and discharging firearms in connection to an alleged shooting in Southwest Baltimore on Jan. 28.

Judge Myshala E. Middleton presided over the proceeding.

According to court documents, Baltimore Police Department officers were notified of a shooting victim who walked into Sinai Hospital shortly after 1:00 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his left hand. The victim said he knew the shooter by the nickname, Swole, who police later identified as the defendant.
