On April 8, Kevin Dudley appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland to ask for a postponement of his homicide case due to newly presented evidence.

Dudley, 41, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime and firearm possession with a felony conviction.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Dudley is accused of murdering 18-year-old high school student Kozee Spriggs on June 3, 2021. Spriggs’  decomposing body was found on the 1300 block of Ensor Street after she was reported missing twice by her mother.

Defense attorney Maureen Rowland asked Judge Copeland for a postponement because she needed time to review evidence she had received only two weeks ago. Judge Copeland granted the postponement.

Dudley’s new trial date is set for June 27 through July 3 before Judge Yolanda A. Tanner.
