Murder Trial Postponed Again

A Baltimore man accused of fatally shooting Reginald Harrod, 59, appeared before Baltimore City

Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland following yet another postponement in his case.

Reginald Raysor, 33, has faced numerous postponements because his defense attorney, Jerry Rodriguez, is ill.

Raysor is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, firearm use in a felony violent crime and firearm possession which occurred Sept.14, 2024, at Bella Roma’s restaurant on the 1100 block of Springfield Avenue.

Footage from police body-worn cameras and Bella Roma’s surveillance footage apparently captured Raysor on Sept. 15, 2024, carrying a black satchel that allegedly contained the murder weapon.

During a Sept. 19 hearing before Judge Yolanda A. Tanner, prosecutors submitted ballistics evidence claiming to link the murder weapon to .40-caliber shell casings recovered from the scene of an armed robbery to which Raysor pleaded guilty on Sept. 18

Raysor also pleaded guilty to robbing a sex worker after paying her $60 to perform sexual acts near the 2400 block of Guilford Avenue on Aug. 28, 2024. Raysor was initially charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, armed robbery, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, reckless endangerment, and seven additional firearm violations.

After she attempted to flee, Raysor allegedly fired four shots at her and another woman as they ran. In exchange for his guilty plea, Raysor accepted a five-year sentence before Judge Hope Tipton.

The current case will return to reception court before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Copeland on Oct. 6 for a jury trial date.
