After being indicted herself, the mother of a teenage boy also accused in a beating and shooting incident, took a plea May 15 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Copeland.
Tiffany Harrison pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit second-degree assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in regards to a shooting outside of Carver High School, located on the 2200 block of Pressman Street on Oct. 27, 2023.
The Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office (SAO) indicted Harrison, 38, and the father of her child, William Dredden, in December for first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, use of a firearm during a commission of a crime of violence, conspiracy to use a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, reckless endangerment, accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder, and several handgun charges in December.
Dredden, 41, was also been indicted on two additional counts, including illegal possession of a firearm with a previous conviction and one count of illegal possession of ammunition.
Under the plea agreement, Harrison faces up to three years in prison, suspending time served since her arrest on the day of the shooting, and/or a pay a $2,500 fine. Under the plea, she will also be removed from home detention. The maximum penalty of first-degree assault is 10 year in prison.
On Thursday, parties agreed to delay the disposition until her co-defendants’ cases are resolved. Harrison’s co-defendants include Dredden, 41, and their teenage son and another juvenile.
Harrison’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 13.
Dredden rejected a plea offer for 25 years suspending all but 15 years for first-degree assault and handgun in vehicle.
His trial is set for Aug. 20.
According to the SAO, before classes began last Oct. 27, Harrison, Dredden and their son allegedly assaulted a student by striking him repeatedly with a handgun and their fists.
Harrison continued to approach and stood next to her son, a press release from the SAO states. As Dredden ran toward the group and pushed one of the victims to the ground, Harrison continued to stand next to her son while he struck the same victim with a handgun.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows the juvenile hit the victim several times with the handgun, and Dredden struck the victim multiple times with his right fist; meanwhile, Harrison stood by, leaning in and raising and lowering her right arm and hand, seemingly to strike the victim, who was out of view on the ground behind the wall.
A gunfight commenced between Harrison’s son and one of the students and in the melee and two individuals suffered non-life threatening injuries in the melee.
