A mistrial was declared on July 29 for 20-year-old Montay Anthony Brown after jurors failed to reach a verdict on his charges of first-degree murder and felony firearm use.
Brown was accused of murdering 34-year-old Garfield Redd in his vehicle on May 6, 2024, on the block of E. 21st Street.
According to charging documents, Redd was pronounced dead on the scene after suffering a close-range gunshot wound to his head.
The trial took place before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Levi S. Zaslow.
No further action has been taken at this time although the prosecution could decide to retry the case.
