McHenry Street Mass‑Shooting Co‑Defendant Accepts Plea Deal

A defendant involved in a mass shooting accepted a plea deal to serve five years in prison on June 5 before Baltimore City Circuit Court before Judge Jeannie Hong

Carlos Dixon, 21, is charged in a June 23, 2025 mass shooting that left two minors, one 18-year-old man, and one 38-year-old woman injured on the 1900 block of McHenry Street.

He plead guilty to first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and illegal firearm use. Dixon was originally indicted on four counts of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of firearm use, one count of handgun in vehicle, four counts of first-degree conspiracy to murder, four counts of commission of a firearm use, one count of handgun in vehicle, and two counts of illegal firearm possession. In total, Dixon was indicted on 20 counts, but the plea agreement dropped the remaining 18 charges.

The prosecution’s plea offer mirrors portions of the agreement accepted by Dixon’s co‑defendant, Deion Briscoe, who pleaded guilty on May 6, 2026, to illegal firearm possession and two conspiracy charges.

Prosecutors said both men played roles in the events leading up to the shooting. Dixon faced additional charges due to an incident that occurred afterward, including a car chase that ended in his arrest.

Defense attorney Koryn High told the court that Dixon is “trying to get home to his family” and has taken responsibility for his actions. His sister, daughter, and the mother of his daughter were present for the proceedings.

Dixon was initially sentenced to 40 years for conspiracy to first-degree murder. However, the entire sentence was suspended. Instead, He must serve five years without parole for the firearm charge and 5 years of supervised probation after release. One condition of probation prohibits him from having any contact with the victims.

Dixon stated that he felt High “could have done better” in representing him.

There are no further hearings set in this case.
