In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Western District on March 26, Baltimore Police Department investigators have arrested 34-year-old Tony Dukes of Baltimore.
Investigators learned that Dukes fatally shot and killed 28-year-old Eugene Fitzgerald while on the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
On April 15, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Tony Dukes at 7:30 a.m., on the 4300 block of Liberty Heights Avenue.
Dukes was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with murder in the first degree.

On March 26, 2024, at approximately 4:44 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a then-unidentified male victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. Despite medical efforts, the victim was transported to an area hospital, and was pronounced deceased a short time later by hospital staff.
