A Baltimore man rejected a plea offer made earlier this month in a manslaughter case during reception court on Aug. 30 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Omar Holt, 36, was previously offered 10 years, suspending all but seven, with an additional year to be served concurrently for manslaughter via vehicle and driving while under the influence on Aug. 9. The prosecution offered the same plea during Monday’s proceedings.
In addition to the charges listed in the plea, Holt faces charges of homicide by vehicle while intoxicated, negligent homicide by vehicle involving drugs, negligent homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while under the influence, and five other traffic violations.
Earlier this month, defense attorney Robert Cole Jr. said he wanted to negotiate further with the prosecution; however, he rejected the offer on his client’s behalf on Monday.
Holt’s trial is scheduled for Jan. 27, 2022.
